A native New Yorker, Marissa Ghesquiere brings nearly two decades of legal expertise and 15 years of real estate experience to the table. She currently leads the Sotheby’s International Realty - East Side Manhattan brokerage and is actively involved with the Real Estate Board of New York, serving on both its Residential Brokerage Ethics Committee and the Universal Co-Brokerage Agreement committee. Her legal background offers her agents a special advantage, helping them navigate the complexities of the fast-moving, highly competitive business of real estate.
Marissa’s goal is to serve as a business partner and collaborator for Sotheby’s International Realty agents, which, in turn, ensures that all clients receive exceptional service. An experienced negotiator, advocate, and counselor, she is focused on agents’ growth, success, and contentment, providing them with the tools, assistance, and encouragement they need to be effective and successful. Marissa leads a team who work together to deliver reliable expert marketing, branding, and administrative support and she is always on the lookout for the newest and best resources and technology.
Known for her levelheadedness and cool temperament, Marissa is a professional, positive team builder, an intelligent and creative thinker, and a good listener. She motivates and inspires agents with her impressive work ethic, her dedication to the office, and her belief in the power of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand. Marissa began her career leading brokerages as interim brokerage manager for numerous Sotheby’s International Realty offices in the Hamptons. From 2007 to 2016, she served as corporate counsel for Sotheby’s International Realty company-owned brokerages, from 2004-2007 practiced real estate law at firms in Massachusetts and New York, and she remains admitted to the bar in both New York and Massachusetts.
Marissa lives on the Upper West Side with her husband—an architect—and her daughters and is familiar with all the delights and challenges of living in a big city. She loves to travel, spend time in the Hamptons, cook, and take her daughters to the park. Marissa earned her bachelor’s degree in English and communications from Rutgers University and her J.D. from Boston University’s School of Law.
